Everything we get asked, in one place

How is a contract review priced?

A fixed fee, quoted in writing before you pay. It covers one contract of up to 20 pages, a call and marked edits; a longer contract is quoted again.

Do you charge a percentage of my deal?

No. We charge the fixed fee for the job and take nothing from what you earn.

What is not included in a fixed fee?

Government filing fees, negotiation, court work and tax advice. The fees page lists what sits outside every fee.

What do I send first?

Tell us what kind of agreement it is, who wrote it and when it is due. Please do not send the document itself until we have agreed to work together.

Can you represent my whole band?

We can advise a band as a company. For disagreements between members, each person may need their own lawyer; we explain this at the start.

Where do you work?

Our office is in Santa Monica and most clients meet us by video. Ask which jurisdictions each lawyer is admitted in before you rely on advice about a specific law.

Does registering a copyright make it mine?

You own a work from the moment you make it. Registration is a public record that lets you enforce that ownership.

Will you tell me my song or film is safe to release?

We check what we are given: licenses, samples and names. We cannot promise nobody will object.

Still unsure what you need?

Describe the contract in a sentence. We will tell you which job fits, or that none does.
